Empat Alasan Generasi Muda Harus Belajar Musik

KOMPAS.com – Ada empat alasan generasi muda harus belajar musik. Keempat alasan itu adalah kepekaan perasaan, rasa artistik, kemampuan bersosialisasi, serta kegembiraan dan rasa positif menghadapi masa depan. Hal-hal tersebut menjadi pendamping bekal generasi muda yang memunyai kecerdasan berpikir.

Presiden Direktur Yamaha Musik Indonesia Distributor (YMID) Ryo Kasai membeberkan hal itu usai menyerahkan donasi 420 unitportable keyboard bagi 50 sekolah dasar negeri (SDN) di wilayah Jakarta Selatan. Kegiatan itu, seturut informasi dari YMID berlangsung pada Rabu (2/12/2015).

Secara simbolis, Ryoi Kasai menyerahkan peralatan musik itu kepada Wali Kota Jakarta Selatan Tri Kurniadi di ruang pertemuan Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) 12 di bilangan Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan.

Catatan Kompas.com menunjukkan bahwa bantuan tersebut bukanlah kali pertama. Pada awal Mei tahun ini, YMID sudah melakukan hal serupa di Kota Bandung. (Baca: Mengawali Alunan Musik Merdu dari Kota Bandung). Kala itu, YMID menggandeng Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung untuk donasi 840 unit portable keyboard bagi 40 SDN di kota tersebut.

Tak sampai di situ, imbuh Ryoi Kasai, kerja sama tersebut mencakup materi pengajaran bermain keyboard dan penyelenggaraan seminar bagi guru kesenian dan guru wali kelas mengenai cara mengajar dasar bermain portable keyboard.

Sementara, bantuan donasi portable keyboard tahap kedua ini, kata Ryo Kasai akan berisi penyerahan 1.050 unit kepada 50 SDN dengan distribusi 20 sekolah di wilayah Jakarta Selatan, 15 sekolah di Kota Makassar, dan 15 sekolah di Kota Jambi. Ryo Kasai menambahkan kedua kegiatan tersebut tetap menjadi bagian program YMID bertajuk Ceria Bersekolah Bersama Keyboard Yamaha.

Pendaftar SNMPTN 2015 Terbanyak Berasal dari SMA

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Pendaftar Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN) 2015 terbanyak berasal dari Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Dari jumlah keseluruhan, pendaftar asal SMA mencapai 617.507 siswa.

“Pendaftar terbanyak tiap tahunnya selalu berasal dari SMA. Urutan selanjutnya, Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) dan Madrasah Aliyah (MA),” ucap Ketua Umum SNMPTN 2015 Rochmat Wahab saat konferensi pers di Gedung Kemendikbud Jakarta, Sabtu (9/5/2015).

Dari data SNMPTN 2015, total keseluruhan pendaftar SNMPTN 2015 mencapai 852.093 siswa. Sedangkan tahun sebelumnya berjumlah 777.536 siswa.

Jumlah ini terus meningkat tiap tahunnya. Setelah dikalkulasikan, pendaftar yang berasal dari SMK berjumlah 141.014 siswa. Sedangkan dari MA sebanyak 93.572 siswa.

Dalam berita sebelumnya, diinformasikan bahwa proses SNMPTN diawali dengan melakukan pendaftaran Pangakalan Data Sekolah dan Siswa (PDSS). Penilaian didasarkan dengan nilai rapor semester I sampai semester V.

Pengumuman hasil seleksi sudah dapat diakses sejak 9 Mei 2015. Bila lulus seleksi, peserta dapat melakukan pendaftaran ulang 9 Juni mendatang. Cek hasil seleksi SNMPTN 2015 di sini.

Siswa SMA di Mata Ombudsman RI

KOMPAS.com – Tahun ini, siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA) mendapat perhatian Ombudsman Republik Indonesia (ORI). Menurut anggota ORI Pranowo Dahlan dalam catatannya pada Selasa (8/12/2015), pada lomba video amatir ORI 2015, kebanyakan peserta yang menang adalah siswa SMA. Total ada 100 film pendek berdurasi tiga menit yang terdaftar dan diseleksi pada ajang ini. Lomba senada kali pertama digelar ORI setahun silam.

Lebih lanjut menurut Pranowo Dahlan, lomba kali ini mengusung slogan atau tagline “Pejuang Pelayanan Publik untuk Pelayanan Publik Makin Apik”. Tujuan perlombaan adalah sosialisasi cara mengkritik yang tidak biasa namun konstruktif.

Sosialisasi pelaksanaan kompetisi 2015 dilaksanakan selama Oktober dan November 2014 oleh Ombudsman melalui beberapa kampus di Jakarta dan Bandung. Lomba Video Amatir Ombudsman RI Ini akan menjadi bentuk suara atau pesan secara kreatif mengenai partispasi publik dalam mengawasi segala bentuk pelayanan publik yang ada di Indonesia. Dari jumlah film yang diseleksi tersebut, hanya 12  film yang menjadi finalis.

Sementara, video amatir berjudul “Dilarang Berjalan di Trotoar” karya Bowo Leksono menjadi pemenang kategori Citizen Journalism. Kemudian, pemenang kategori Film Pendek adalah Renda Firmansyah. Film itu berjudul “Pelayanan Publik Harga Mati”.

Anies Baswedan: Mendidik dengan “Reward and Punishment” Sudah Kuno

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Model pendidikan dengan memberi penghargaan dan hukuman bagi anak didik dinilai sudah ketinggalan zaman.

Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Anies Baswedan menyebutkan, cara yang dikenal dengan istilah “reward and punishment” itu tidak efektif lagi diterapkan kepada anak-anak di masa sekarang.

“Reward and punishment itu kuno. Kalau bicara pendidikan, yang harus dibangun adalah positif disiplin,” kata Anies saat berbicara dalam acara Kompasianival 2015 di Gandaria City, Jakarta Selatan, Sabtu (12/12/2015).

Makna positif disiplin yang dimaksud oleh Anies adalah mengupayakan suatu kondisi di mana seseorang yang mengalami kegagalan terpacu untuk menjadi lebih baik lagi.

Anies mencontohkan dampak dari penerapan reward and punishment, dengan situasi seorang murid telat datang ke sekolah, dihukum berdiri sepanjang jam pelajaran oleh gurunya.

Dari hal itu, dapat dilihat, hukuman yang diberikan sama sekali tidak berhubungan dengan telat datang ke sekolah.

Hukuman seperti itu juga tidak menjamin sang murid tidak telat lagi di kemudian hari.

“Datang terlambat ke sekolah, dihukum berdiri. Nyambungenggak antara terlambat dan berdiri? Itu buat puas gurunya saja,” tutur Anies.

Mantan rektor Universitas Paramadina itu juga mengajak para orangtua dan pendidik agar jangan melihat anak seperti kertas kosong.

Perumpamaan anak seperti kertas kosong memang marak, namun sebaiknya, anak dianggap sebagai biji atau benih.

“Kayak kata Ki Hadjar Dewantoro, anak-anak kita seperti biji. Tugas kita, menumbuhkan biji. Akarnya enggak terlihat. Batang, daun, juga tak nampak. Tapi, kalau diberi kesempatan tumbuh, akan jadi tanaman yang indah,” ujar Anies.
